So...Devlogs exist...and it only took me six months to realize.

I've done a lot since the initial release, the update is coming along smoothly, despite the fact that I've wound up working as a writer for another project in the making. I've got one more scene to script for the guy, but once that's done, there will be no further distractions from development. So-

What to expect?

In Devil Chile V0.2, I plan on delving deeper into Celeste's story; who she is and why she behaves the way she does. That's assuming the decisions you made indicate that you're interested in knowing. The alternative won't be so pretty.

While Celeste is given more context, you should come to understand the significance of your MC's dreams and some of the meaning behind their cryptic messages.

I also plan on further characterizing Samantha, Danielle, Catalina and Bobby, while giving more context to the MC's backstory, applying reason to who he is. I'll also be introducing two new characters; Dr. Automa (who was mentioned in the initial release) and Adina (a new face you'll be bumping into). The murder mystery plot will also develop, but there's no way to talk about that without giving too  much away.

Progress

I've revamped the characters, creating new PBR textures for them and utilizing normal maps. I've also created a ton of new outfits and a handful of new hairstyles. I've learned a few things about animation and compositing and I've animated a few scenes already. With the compositor setting that I'll be using, everything is gonna be a lot more vibrant and colorful (when they need to be).

I have 14k words written for the script, more to come still, and I have roughly 400 renders posed already. By the time posing is done, I suspect the update will have well over a thousand new images. I've also decided on 2 new soundtracks to add, while modifying existing ones. As characters become more familiar (MC included) the tunes associated with them will become more fleshed out, deeper and intricate. Since the first release, I've gotten better at every single thing that I do.

There's gonna be a lotta emotional moments, a lotta tense moments, a lotta wholesome moments and funny moments too. I'm so fuckin excited to get this out there, I just wanna quit my job and focus on nothing but this. Every minute I spend away from development is torturous, hopefully the day will come where I'm able to manifest that lifestyle.

There's a lot that I could show, but I'd hate to spoil even a single new asset that I've made. I even find myself holding out on my patrons a fuck ton, but I do have a few things posted there, feel free to check it out if you'd like, though they are mostly tier exclusive.

The discord server is really just me talking to myself, but you should come check it out anyways. The shizo-babble channel is basically cryptic leaks of what's to come.
